So long 2020...it's been, um, yeah
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
As frankly awful as this year has been for most of the planet, at Sentro we have a lot to be grateful and thankful for.
Firstly, we are based in New Zealand. Our country has managed the pandemic better than most. As a result, our economy is in decent shape and our business community remains vibrant. More importantly, people are healthy and enjoy freedoms many cannot. We appreciate what our leaders and fellow New Zealanders have done to make this possible.
We became a focus customer with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise this year, and continue our relationship with Callaghan Innovation. We appreciate our relationship with these key business support agencies.
Spreading our wings
We launched Sentro in 2019 with global ambitions. We want to change the world of group insurance and benefits - for the benefit of businesses and working people.
We have our first international customer, and we will have more soon. We talked to a lot of people in a lot of places! We now have over 120 qualified opportunities. Group insurers large and small, worldwide, face common challenges. Our solution represents the destination they want to reach - a functional, configurable, extensible and accessible commercial group admin solution that is affordable and continuously improved.
We believe that Sentro is the best group insurance admin solution on the market for regional and new entrant group insurers. We thank all of our customers, current and future.
New supporters and partners
In August we were selected from over 700 applicants to join the Holt Fintech Accelerator in Montreal, Canada. The Holt team are now Sentro investors, and good friends. Our Canadian representatives were introduced to us via Holt. There is no question that our business is stronger and will win North American business sooner thanks to our relationship with Holt.
Our relationship with Microsoft continues to be strong. We are a member of the excellent Microsoft for Startups program, and we are looking forward to collaborating more with Microsoft in multiple markets.
We are building relationships with reinsurers, systems integrators, software companies, and investors around the world.
Sentro named in the Fintech 100
We were selected as part of the global Fintech 100 at the Abu Dhabi Fintech festival. This adds to the recognition we received last year as best insurtech at the Plug and Play Winter Summit in the USA. The financial services and insurance industries recognize that they need to modernize, and that there had been little cloud-native innovation like Sentro introduced into the group insurance segment.
Our team
In July, we welcomed interns from Misk Academy in Saudi Arabia to our team. We have added representatives in Canada, and stepped up our relationship with our excellent software development partners. We are looking forward to adding more Sentros to our team in 2021.
Our platform
Sentro gets better every single week. In 2020, we introduced major new functionality, such as:
- Sentro Connect for Service Providers. This allows non-insurance benefit offerings like wellness services, product discounts and other offers, to be easily included in group insurance and benefit offerings
- OAuth2 - Sentro now supports this industry-standard authentication protocol
- Sentro Hub - Product Pricing. Sentro now supports even more complex group product pricing regimes, including loadings at the organizational and individual level
